The Triumphal Entry

Matthew 21:1-10, Mark 11:1-10, Luke 19:29-44, and John 12:12-19

Jesus makes it very clear that He is the Messiah! He came at Passover (“Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29) on the back of a donkey (Messianic prophecy from Zechariah 9:9). Jesus doesn’t come on a stallion declaring a physical war against the Romans, but He comes on a donkey as a symbol of peace and showing that He is a spiritual Messiah who will take away the sins of the world. Five days later, the same people who cheer Jesus today will chant, “Crucify Him.” May we be people who love and worship Jesus through the good and the bad.
